In Athens for the fifth ‘Energy in Buildings’ conference

With a presentation entitled “Energy saving through evaporative cooling in industrial and comfort applications”, Luigi Nalini, CAREL CEO, will be speaking at the 5th ‘Energy in Buildings’ conference, to be held in Athens on 12 November. The event is organised by the ASHRAE Hellenic Chapter in collaboration with the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), and brings together engineers, architects, academia and professionals for the purpose of advancing the state-of-the-art of building technology.

“I’m honoured to take part in the Athens conference”, Luigi Nalini said. “It will be both stimulating and an opportunity for growth, as well as a valuable platform for discussing the energy saving objectives established by the European Union. In particular, in my presentation I will be focusing on evaporative cooling, which as a result of modern technology can be used to develop green systems with a low environmental impact”.

Buildings account for 40% of total energy consumption and generate 36% of greenhouse gas emissions (European data). The building sector has initiated a process to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 80% and cut energy consumption by 50%. In this context, ‘Energy in Buildings’ will bring together over 35 scientific papers, more than 18 presentations and international speakers, with the objective of promoting recent technology, disseminating information on scientific and technological developments, and educating participants on protecting the environment.
