CAREL celebrates its 15th anniversary in the USA at the Clipper Stadium
On Sunday 26 June, CAREL will be celebrating its first 15 years of operations at the Clipper Stadium baseball park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Opened when CAREL first started expanding internationally, the Manheim site in Pennsylvania USA was CAREL’s first production plant outside of Italy, predating those in China, Brazil and Croatia.
In the fifteen years since the subsidiary was opened, CAREL has continued to grow, investing in innovation and new technologies. “In recent years, we have introduced an organisational model based on competence centres, both regarding product development and operations”, commented Martino Manfrin, Managing Director CAREL USA. “We have also worked closely with our branch offices outside of Manheim, so as to make sure we are as near as possible to our current and future customers in North America. One important investment we have made involves universities and colleges in Pennsylvania, and we are planning on extending this model to other states”.
The US office today employs 69 people, almost one quarter of whom in R&D. Last year also saw the opening of the Knowledge Center for thermodynamic applications, following the same model adopted for the existing centres in China and Europe.
“In the next 15 years, I expect CAREL to become one of the major players in our sector in the USA”, added Francesco Nalini, CAREL Group Managing Director. “The country is currently seeing increasing attention being paid to sustainability and energy consumption, and this offers opportunities for companies such as CAREL, whose vocation is to develop high-efficiency technological innovation aimed at bringing energy savings at both a unit and system level”.
