The courage to change

Friday 1 July represented a symbolic date for CAREL Headquarters: 25% of all personnel took part in an event dedicated to change. “With the help of an outside consultant, we decided to offer some employees the chance to see their day-to-day work through different eyes”, said Carlo Vanin, Chief HR&Organization Officer. “We wanted them to question their consolidated routines and habits and focus their attention on the subject of change”. 

Operating on the market for more than forty years, CAREL is renowned for having introduced a series of technological innovations aimed at saving energy into the air-conditioning and refrigeration sectors, and can boast continuous and profitable growth. Indeed, technological innovation is part of the company’s DNA and underpins its development. This is why every year CAREL allocates 7% of consolidated sales to Research & Development and, in line with its lean philosophy, believes in continual improvement. 

“Our business is quite complex”, Vanin continued, “we cover numerous markets and regions, with numerous products. And we are present in all of these regions and markets. The aim of the event on the first of July was to embark on a road to simplification. The courage to change is needed if you want to simplify, grow and improve”.
