Gemba walk at Carel

Gemba walk at Carel
On Monday 19 September Carel had the pleasure of hosting James P. Womack together with a delegation from the CUOA Lean Enterprise Center.
James Womack is famous for having written, together with Daniel Jones, the books "The Machine That Changed The World" and "Lean Thinking", two fundamental pillars of lean thinking in the Western world. For almost 20 years he has headed the LEI (Lean Enterprise Institute) community, making it into the reference place for Lean Organization teams from all over the world.
Last year Womack left his role as CEO of the Lean Enterprise Institute to dedicate more time to working with companies in the field.
"We're proud to have been chosen for this Gemba walk", commented Walter Bessega, Carel's Group Chief Organization Officer. "Jim Womack's visit was an exceptional chance for our company to examine lean thinking tools directly in the field, benefiting from the extensive experience of one of the founders of lean thinking. We're certain that this meeting had a positive impact on the entire organisation", Bessega concluded, "not only regarding the great deal of positive feedback received from a person of Womack's calibre, yet more importantly for the amount of input it gave us for improvement".
