CAREL high-efficiency heat pump solutions for the 120th anniversary of SJTU

The prestigious Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) recently organised an event to celebrate its 120th anniversary. The event was attended by thousands of alumni and numerous political and academic representatives. Key speakers included Yang Xiong, Mayor of Shanghai, and Du Zhanyuan, the Vice Minister of Education China.

The day is also a day for the 60th anniversary of Refrigeration education in China, this celebration  included a presentation by Abel Li, CAREL China HVAC/R Laboratory manager, represented by Prof. Wang Ruzhu, director of the institute of Refrigeration and Cryogenics (SJTU),  an internationally-renowned professor. 
“CAREL is the only Italian company to have its own test area inside the Green Energy Laboratory, the Made in Italy building designed by Archea on the  Minhang campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University”, commented Andrea Veneziani, CEO of CAREL China. “This space - entirely set up by CAREL - is made available to students to carry out tests and experiments. We recognise the importance of our close relationships with Chinese universities and in the constructive dialogue we are establishing with them”.

“This space inside Shanghai Jiao Tong University is part of our strategy to maintain close relationships with universities around the world”, explained Biagio Lamanna, HVAC/R Knowledge Centre Manager. “It is to all effects and purposes a test area for CAREL solutions, however we wanted to set it up inside the university campus so as to encourage closer synergies with the university and make it a place of study and research for students”.
