Training Line, innovation applied to training

Training Line, innovation applied to training

The lean philosophy that CAREL has adopted for many years now has completely overhauled how we organise our everyday work: no more directives from the top down, but rather innovations from the bottom up, proposed by the workers themselves, and then evaluated and shared by colleagues. Employees are divided into working groups, where a participatory, critical and proactive approach is encouraged. People are therefore empowered to follow the improvement process. This generates a virtuous cycle in which innovations are developed and promoted, being considered effectively useful. Time and resources are spent on these rather than other activities.

This is the basis of the idea of the Training Line. A response to the need to train new colleagues, disseminate and harmonise operational standards that need to be known by everyone who works in the CAREL manufacturing areas. The Training Line realistically simulates what happens on the production lines. This tool has the purpose of streamlining the entry of new line workers, through standardised training. It can also be used by operators who already know certain production stages or processes to expand their skills.

Several departments have been involved in the development of this project, from quality to production, human resources and communication, regarding concept, design and installation. The contents on the other hand, i.e. the more sensitive aspects of the tool, have been developed by the production team, which possesses detailed knowledge of the entire process.
