CO2 commercial refrigeration in China: CAREL solutions with Fute and General Fushi
As reported on R744, we are proud to have worked with Fute and General Fushi for the CO2 technology in China. As stated by Zhang Tingxun, General Fushi spokesperson during China Refrigeration, CAREL experience was crucial in helping them in designing and building their CO2 products and systems. General Fushi's hybrid CO2 technology has already been adopted by retail giant Metro Group for their first CO2 store in China, which opened in December 2014. This installation has been followed by others in 2015, and we are now in the roll-out phase of the technology. According to Zhang the system manufacturer has ambitious expansion plans for CO2 refrigeration in China.
CAREL is pioneering this new technology. Following the positive experiences acquired with standard refrigerants (HFCs), we are now studying and testing new possibilities with propane and CO2. The main benefits of the solution remain unchanged, with CO2, which is inherently affected by warm climates, we can exploit our significant experience with tried-and-tested solutions for traditional remote systems.
