For existing system retrofits, CAREL proposes a range of products that
are simple to install, guaranteeing the maximum in terms of flexibility,
operability and reliability.
The retrofit of existing systems is closely related to the need to comply
with HACCP regulations (hazard analysis and critical control points),
which requires all businesses operating in the food industry to implement
self-control procedures aimed at preventing the hazards relating to
the safety and the conservation of foodstuffs for human consumption.
According to the HACCP regulations, the log of the recorded temperature
data, the negative events and corrective actions taken must always be
available and kept for reference for at least 1 year.
CAREL, through the combined offering of products such as the IOM modules,
Synchro wireless and PlantVisorPRO, ensures the certainty of continuous
and detailed monitoring of the systems.
The following pages describe the advantages relating to the use of CAREL
products on an example system retrofit, with the objectives of:
• limited installation costs;
• flexible installation and use.
The retrofit of an existing system is performed for the purpose of implementing
continuous and detailed monitoring in compliance with the HACCP regulations,
considering the following factors:
• control the temperature of the refrigeration utilities already
operating using a low impact solution, without having to replace of the
electronics installed on the utilities;
• limit the amount of wiring required, exploiting the advantages
of wireless technology, thus also significantly reducing the installation
costs;
• simplify the data recording procedures;
• record and monitor the data relating to the installation;
• prevent and/or identify possible critical events and automatically
warn the installation supervisor by email, SMS or fax, for the implementation
of corrective actions;
• process automatic reports, tables and graphs of the logged data
from the installation, to be stored and filed in compliance with the HACCP
regulations, reducing the time needed to complete the required forms;
• offer the possibility to monitor the installation from a remote
location;
• source all the components from one single supplier.
Reliability and flexibility of the solution
The installation diagram shown below illustrates how CAREL offers highly
technological products from an integrated solution viewpoint, made up
of.
• PlantVisorPRO;
• Synchro Wireless;
• I/O modules;
• ACC.
Globally, the installation is low impact (limited wiring, exploiting
wireless technology, while retaining the controller already used on the
refrigeration utilities).
